Celebrating Kindness – #ChooseKind

‘Everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their lives’ *Applause*

Kindness
Noun
Meaning: being friendly, generous and understanding.

Who’s the kindest person in your life? Your mum, your big sister or your best friend? How about the kindest character in your favourite book? We’d love to hear about all the kind acts and good deeds in your life.

Many of you will know the wonderful story of WONDER by R.J Palacio. It’s the story of August, a ten year old boy with a facial abnormality. He’s desperate to blend in at his new school, but will always stand out because of the way he looks.

AUGGIE & ME is a new side to the WONDER story: three new chapters from three different characters – bully Julian, oldest friend Christopher and classmate Charlotte – giving an insight into how Auggie has touched their own lives.

Here’s what the kids felt after reading Wonder.

Our pals at Penguin Schools are marking Anti-Bullying Week 2015 by inviting schools to take part in the Certified Kind Classroom Challenge. It’s simple. Each time someone carries out an act of kindness, put something in a Jar of Kindness. Once your jar is complete, you will be certified kind. Are you taking part? Find out how to become a Certified Kind classroom.

We’ve five sets of Wonder books to giveaway – Wonder, Auggie & Me and The Wonder Journal, which is the perfect place to jot down your kind deeds.
