The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction joined forces with top garden designer Richard Lucas to create a show-stopping Peter RabbitTM Herb Garden for this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The beautiful garden, put together in just five short days(!), is split into three distinct areas, which together bring to life some of the most iconic images from Beatrix Potter’s little books.
The Natural Garden is filled with “Long Scarlet” radishes (Peter Rabbit’s all-time favourite vegetable), and wild flowers; The Greenhouse Garden features an old greenhouse full of plants, pots and watering cans for Peter to hide from Mr McGregor in; and in Mr. McGregor’s vegetable plot Peter Rabbit’s famous blue jacket creates a scarecrow, whilst the gooseberry bushes that he got caught up in are not far away.
The World of Beatrix Potter team worked tirelessly with the very talented Richard Lucas to design and create a garden that perfectly encapsulates the spirit and feel of The Tale of Peter Rabbit and today all of their hard work has been rewarded – Peter Rabbit’s beautiful garden won a Gold medal! Many, many congratulations to all our friends at The World of Beatrix Potter.
