Football + books = SCORE!

Killer Pass  CaptainFantastic

It’s clear that I like football, seeing as I write two football series, Football Academy and Foul Play. But I’m not the only author who likes football.

Would you like to find out what team your favourite author supports? Who does Girls FC author, Helena Pielichaty follow? And what about the author of Bend it Like Beckham, Narinder Dhami? If you go to our new blog, Goal Lines, you can find out. You can also find out what we all think about what’s going on in football right now.

The Premier League. Who do we think is going to win it?

And which of us is taking our children to the football this Christmas?

Well, that’s me, actually. I am taking my seven-year-old daughter to Leeds v Portsmouth on 28 December. It’ll be her fifth game. So far she has seen four Leeds wins out of four. I love taking her to the football. My mum took me when I was young, so it seems fitting.

My daughter is a book lover, like most of you reading this blog. I asked her what her favourite books have been this year – and I thought I’d share it with you. The joint books for her are the Ottoline series by Paul Stewart and Jeff Kinney’s Wimpy Kid books. She also likes a book called The Secret Football Club by . . . er . . . her dad… but that might be because she’s in it.

Happy Christmas – and I hope you get lots of books as presents. As well as other stuff.

The blog address is www.goallines.blogspot.com, by the way. And if you want to enter a competition there is one on my website now. All you have to do is predict who will be top of the Premier League on Christmas Day: Chelsea, Man U or Arsenal.
