On the road with Cathy Cassidy . . .

I'm back from my week-long tour to celebrate Gingersnaps going into paperback… it was a cool week, in more ways than one!!!

I started off in Carlisle on Sat 31st Jan and had a brilliant day… I met lots of fab readers. Then it was on down to London, where I woke up to a blanket of snow – whoa!!! The whole of London ground to a halt! I made it to the BBC for my interview with Radio 4's Go4It but all the schools were closed so I couldn't visit the school in Pimlico I'd planned to go to… sorry, guys!

The next day, I headed east where the snow wasn't quite so bad, and did two fab events in Ipswich. The following day I was in Ipswich and Norwich, still escaping the worst of the snow and meeting some amazing kids! I even managed to meet up with Laura Taylor, winner of the 2008 MBFR comp, for a special chat and catch-up!

On Thursday, at the Avenue School in Norwich, I was given some beautiful hand-baked gingersnaps and on Friday I headed north to Birmingham and Dudley for two more brilliant events, before finishing off at Borders in Kingston.
A big hiya to everyone I met on my travels and apologies to those schools I couldn't visit because they were closed due to snow… I'll do my very best to visit you all soon!!!

Oh yes… when I got back home to Scotland, I brought the snow with me… brrr! Just off outside to build a snowman. See you soon!
